Drone Users Must Not Interfere with First Responders
The FAA warns drone operators that they will be subject to significant fines that may exceed $20,000 and civil penalties if they interfere with emergency response operations. Flying a drone without authorization in or near the disaster area may violate federal, state, or local laws and ordinances, even if a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is not in place. Allow first responders to save lives and property without interference.

  1. I have been evacuated for 3 days……….they are fighting hard to save my and my neighbors property . Ive been told people are flying drones which cause the fire air support to be brought down. This should be criminal and I think all drone owners need to be registered . Why does the FFA not push for this…………..?
Gun owners have to be registered why not these people?

    1. The current laws do require drone pilots to register before flight. In addition there are flight restrictions in place in areas where firefighters and responders are present. If drone pilots are operating illegally in these areas, they will be subject to criminal prosecution.
